One of the weirdest trade shows (obviously depending on your point of view and whether or not you are a participant) is that of a Psychic Fair and Witchcraft Exposition held, naturally, in October. This "trade show" is held in the town of Salem (where else?) Mass. It is held throughout the month of October and is the place to be if your desire is to attend balls held for like minded zombies and vampires where you can boogie (or should that be bogey) on down with the undead. You can attend witch workshops for schooling in the magical arts or join workshops on spirit communication where you can listen to voices on the other side. Whatever (whichever) your preference it's a must to don your best black attire and attend mourning tea. Presumably the only trade show fliers handed out at this ghoulfest will be brooms. In a similar vein though certainly not as weird are funeral trade shows and exhibitions. These are held regularly throughout the world to allow funeral directors or anyone connected with the trade to exchange ideas and view any advances in goods or technology with regard to the funeral industry. Seminars on embalming are held and techniques in ash scattering (even aerial) are discussed. It is unlikely that members of the public would visit these exhibitions so the most likely attendees would be funeral directors and their assistants and stonemasons. Another among the weirdest trade shows must be that of The World Toilet Expo. This in itself is self explanatory as well as sanitary. It is held to promote new technologies in the toilet industry but laudably is trying to come to grips with the lack of sanitation and clean water for those many millions of people in the world who are without it. Finally, where would we be without the adult entertainment trade shows? Where the trade show exhibits are not so much eye stopping as eye popping.
