Some people say that war means opportunity, perhaps that is why Philippine Airlines was created in 1941. You have to admit that took some guts, and there is no denying the entrepreneurial spirit that has kept them together ever since. Philippine Airlines is noteworthy for many reasons, not the least of which is their incredible resilience that has brought them so far. PAL (Philippine Airlines) has a rich history that would seem to not be found among their peers. Do continue reading because there is a lot of fascinating information to discover about Philippine Airlines and all they've been through. One thing is for sure, there is never a dull moment for Philippine Airlines as a lot has transpired during 2010. PAL acquired their second heavy airliner, the Boeing 777, in January; the 777 represents state of the art long distance airline technology. In late March they announced additional international destinations which brought their total to 26. November 2010 saw PAL roll-out an all new advanced seat selection program. This new service provides a unique and highly convenient process for seat selection for those who book tickets online. In Asia, Philippine Airlines (PAL) is the oldest airline to still use its original name. The Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila is the originating hub for this airline. Their other major flight hub is on the Philippine island of Cebu at Mactan-Cebu International Airport of Cebu City. Philippine Airlines services almost fifty different destinations all over the world both in their own country, in Asia and in North America. There is no other airline with the history that this airline has. PAL was created during the beginning of the second world war which, if you think about the challenges they had to fight over, makes it amazing that they succeeded. The SportsPlus plan offered by PAL is the newest version of a program that used to be called The Flying Sportsman. This is a multi-tiered program that is based on subscription and provides for additional luggage and baggage space allotment for sports equipment. Every PAL flight offers this accommodation. This program is intended for those who engage in sports that require larger spaces for the necessary equipment. This additional service is currently only available for those who are members of the Mabuhay Miles program. Since they exited financial receivership in 2007, Philippine Airlines, has done some major investing. Fleet upgrades have run them almost $100 million. And let's not forget the two Boeing heavies they now possess. This company has a fighting spirit that has carried them through everything thrown at them in the last 60 plus years. When I am not trying to figure out can I lose Weight I enjoy disscussing Philllippine Airlines. |
